Every shift

  • Pre-trip inspection: brakes, tires, lights, coupling, leaks, emergency equipment.
  • Post-trip inspection with defects reported in writing.
  • Hours-of-service compliance and fatigue awareness.
  • Seat belt and phone-free driving.

On site

  • Site orientation and PPE requirements.
  • Spotters when backing in tight areas.
  • Stop-work authority whenever conditions are unsafe.

Periodically

  • Preventive maintenance on schedule.
  • Credential and medical card expiration tracking.
  • Near-miss reviews and shared lessons learned.
